SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA– Golf simulators around the world are about to light up the internet with live leader board results from the 1st Annual International Golf League’s final playoff on Saturday, April 2nd.

Hosted by Full Swing Golf and played exclusively in indoor golf centers scattered across multiple continents, eighteen 2-man teams are poised for the final showdown to grab the purse, and bragging rights, as the International Team Champion of Indoor Golf.

Play began in November, with 56 teams playing qualifying rounds and gathering handicap information online. The competition rounds began in January, as teams were split into 4 divisions to allow like-teams to compete against each other. All 56 teams played a total of 6 best ball rounds and 6 net score rounds of 9 holes to accumulate total scores toward qualifying for the final playoff.

112 players from London, Minnesota, Chicago, Copenhagen, Massachusetts, Utah, British Columbia, indoor golf centers, private homes, and local pubs gathered together every week for 3 months to compete in this truly one-of-a-kind event.

“The International Indoor Golf League has been a great addition to our league play this season,” adds Greg Sheffield, owner of Bogies Indoor Golf Club, just outside Chicago. “Challenging players from different states and countries really added to the excitement at our facility. We have several teams in the finals, and I hope all of them perform well. Overall, we had over 50 players participate from our location, and next year I expect many more. I would encourage all indoor centers to jump on board next season and see how this league adds to the excitement in their facility. The league has been great for business and is a fantastic way to take competition to the next level.”

Divisional league play took the indoor players to a host of championship golf courses, including Harbour Town, Bay Hill, Pinehurst, Torrey Pines, and Firestone. No doubt, these courses were a welcome site to those in the competition, as the U.S. and Canada experienced a fierce winter this year with a massive snow accumulation over the season.
